On the morning of Saturday, 7th December, we will be discussing the Crafts in India beyond their superficial place as drawing room decoration. Join us for a discussion at Sanskriti Kendra with three elders who have engaged extensively with the Crafts as they share the finer nuances of this issue.

About the speakers:
Aseem Shrivastava is a writer and teacher based in Gurgaon. He trained as an economist before turning to philosophy. He has engaged extensively with public issues, lending his voice to lesser known narratives. His abiding interest has been towards humanity's relationship with nature. He formerly taught ecosophy at Ashoka University.
Ashish Gupta has worked in rural development and microfinance. He has now left his professional career and lives in a village near Jabalpur with his family. He was part of the Karigar Panchayat. He has written a series of books on the craftsman and philosopher, Ravinder Sharma, titled, Bharat Gatha.
Vijayan MJ is a New Delhi based researcher, activist and policy analyst. He is an Advisor to the National Fishworkers Forum (NFF-India), National Federation of Handloom and Handicrafts, All India Union of Forest Working People (AIUFWP) & The Research Collective – (TRC-PSA), and Centre for Financial Accountability (CFA), Delhi.
